Cambridge shoplifter jailed for breaching order
A shoplifter who was subject to a criminal behaviour order (CBO) for retail theft has been jailed after breaching it.
Marcus Baker, 43, of Brackley Close, Cambridge, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison for breaching the order by entering the Co-op in Chesterton Road on Friday, 9 May. He also stole chocolates and other items worth £60.
Baker admitted theft and breaching a CBO. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and must also pay £60 in compensation to the Co-op.
Baker’s CBO, preventing him from entering any Co-op in Cambridge, remains in place until October.
PC Skye Woodhouse said: “Criminal behaviour orders are another tool we can use to help better protect the community from repeat offenders.
“I hope this order provides reassurance to Cambridgeshire’s retailers and employees that breaches will be taken seriously by police and the courts.”
